Come into my parlour

Come into my parlour
Said the girl to the guy
A need to feel some magic
Defeating what was shy
A little bit old fashioned
She blushed when he stepped in
But certain when he kissed her
Her parlour was ripe for sin
So she extended invitation
Knowing what she knew
She opted for relevation
And didn’t care about the view
There’s no place for modesty
If she’ll claw and bite and scratch
Honey you will realise
You’ve more than met your match

Some Other Song

No butterfly tummy
Instead an angry wasp
When love turned to Ashes
Empty without grasp
I gave you intimacy
I gave you rest
Never asked you to need me
Just a little tenderness
You are unavailable
You are offline
Attention given elsewhere
Attention that should be mine
Now I want you out of here
Now I want you gone
If it’s butterflies I’m searching for
I’ll play some other song

Snapped on the Wire

I stand on a ledge
Tippy toe fire
Tipped too far over
Snapped on the wire
Bounced back and forth
Sure footing is fought
The price was too high
I snapped on the wire
The moment I was caught
Believing Fairy Tales
Until I stumbled and fell
Into this idealistic haze
This is not my ending
This is not my quiet
‘Til I snapped on the wire
I had never been higher
And death odds require it
It is between you and me
And what I can never be
If I’m saddened by loss
And that I can’t remain
I stay snapping on the wire
As it infiltrates my brain
By snapping this wire
Somehow I am contained
There’s gotta be some spillage
There’s gotta be some work
And if you’re on the other side
Stay there, away from hurt
I never meant to poison
Not from my tomb
Not from my heart
Still I snap at this here wire
Draw in tight to draw apart
No leeway, it is gone
The balance can’t be won
I know I’m falling over
And, have been for so long
Just let me keep on falling
One more Snap, too tightly wired
And at last, I will be done
One last snap, I am so tired

Trees don’t know the wind by name
Only by soft or wild caresses
And lullabys don’t know their author
They become history just the same
Trees dance unasked
They bask in sunshine or rain
And songs are sung
They reassure, and they remain
Even if the origin a mystery
So we put to slumber
As we ourselves once were
While trees endure thunder
And grow despite fire
Become strong rooted and new
Both touch hearts, inspire
The words form foundation
Of a truth we always knew
While God reveals His creation
As both the reason and the strength
The art of words, so powerful
Saturation of a soul filled
With beauty and sleepy lines
Distant wind chimes of childhood safety
And so find rest, infinite times
A voice that carries through eternity
Knowledge that our bonds hold
Pure belief
In magic
And Fairytales
As they enfold
Count not the tragic
Power in simple things
The love been human brings
Your remembered warm breath soothes
A long ago innocent child believes
A magic that’s retained
Far beyond adult stains
As long as my heart can retrieve
As long as my mind can conceive
You will be the magic in my dreams

Twice Tricked

You sat sulking in a corner
Like a child
Something denied
You counted all my faults
Yet never included how I cried
Or how I waited
Or what we created
Until it was done
When you came
You asked for one more day
So you could understand the goodbye
Well, when I asked for the same
Your silence told me everything
You wouldn’t even try
Do you still sulk
These many miles away
Still dabble in flame
As if I’m still there to tame
I know I did the wishing
I know I wove the spell
Love spell too tight
Gave us too many years to fight
Made us hang on despite tears
We were breaking, broke and broken
Still, my love spell kept you close
For me it didn’t matter,
I always loved you most
So, I undid it true
On a full blue moon
Didn’t know I gave her you
Dug it out and unwrapped
The Red ribbon of our start
I burned it, chanted released
And, gave you back your heart
So convinced it was the right path
I felt loved, but differently
Thought it time for my life to begin
Now, too late, I realize
I gave your freedom too soon
I am stuck, distracted, howling, crawling
I’d missed all warning
And chose a man not you
I chose a man not true
The moon
Bound, rewound
Affected me too
My heart will never be the same
If my life started when you came
It ended when I let you go again
My lessons say I must wish you well
How does that work
If I’m stuck in hell
Twice deserted, tricked
I was tempted, that I know
It didn’t have to end
I can plead I didn’t know
By then you were both not friend
Ignorance is no excuse
It is my burden, if I’m honest
Born of ancient knowledge
I knew what I was doing
And when the moon is full
My fingers itch……
but I ignore them

You Lose!!

Splintered spikes of hatred
Abandoned, over it
You know what you guaranteed
Companion, admit it
I know
While I lived a world you created
When I said yes to less
One that you left, defenseless
While irritants uncovered
I take back any respect
You knew I suffered
Alone in that world
While you went off playing
With others, with lust
I’m familiar with the rules of the game
Oh, yes I’ve competed
And, never have I cheated
Obscure imagined, crooked to core
You thought I’d play the same
Or, I’d never played before
You ran your mouth off more
Than a 1$ Singapore whore
Dropped your lovers’ secrets
Spoke like a bitch, an ex wife
You flung whispered promises
It meant nothing, no second thought
Dalliance with dark night
That was trust you compromised
And, it shouldn’t be sold…or bought
I am awake, I will never sleep
A distance sustained
If I believe what I hear
It’s my name you’re dropping
These days
In craven displays
Living life smiling
Revealed my secrets, intimate
I am not weakened by pain
I am immune
Don’t assume weakness
I certainly invite the contact
I defy you to say it again
This time, be a man
Say it to my face
You on flight or fight alert
You hurry to feel real hurt
If that’s how this works
I walk with back straight
It is my path, my shoes, my rules
I owe you nothing….
You Lose!

The Ghost of You

The Ghost of You
The ghost of you…visits uninvited
Adrenaline spikes, frightened
They told me I am strong enough
To break free
No warning that I’d feel a twitch,
Where you used to be
They never said how long is enough
To separate you from me
They never explained the phantom itch
Where your source used to be
I trusted when I was unsure
I rusted from inside, denied cure
I lusted in the longest nights
Tormented thoughts relay slights
It didn’t diminish
It didn’t help finish
The tale that was we two
Or the ending that stays too new
Even as days turn; months to years
And I’m replaced by memory
This trickery
Will be my death
On knees I will confess
And the Ghost I see
Will not be confused,
The mirror I believe
Or shadows I choose
This contemplation of loss
Is in my mind, and I watch
A spectator sport
This choice, this last resort
Finds how to say goodbye
While I Disallow hope,
Scourge clean caustic soap
To carry on, as always
Even Exempted, I’m less these days
I brake, I fail, I call
The best of my love,
Was my greatest fall

Remember me?

Perhaps you hear me in whispers
Or boisterous shouting
Or tears, that fill and fall
Perhaps you feel me in passing
Or nipples hard, that strain as they call
Or memory, in pictures you can touch
Perhaps you remember us
Remember the story? A tale you told
Of his new love and a woman to hold
Is that not what you promised?
The day I removed my heart and carefully placed it in your hand;
The day I dared to love and lost me to the sand….
Now frantic, searching shore
Huge mounds as my spirit frowns, shadowed….
Hallowed, this once new love
That you return to sender
That you return to sea
That you don’t remember
This love, this story – this me!
Pinned to sleeve my heart
Withers, dies – Too long apart

Treasure Chest

That locked box where you stockpile
The things that no-one sees
The darkness you know too well
Your languid perusal of these….
Tiny folded boxes, atrophied dreams
Address secrets of jealousies
And cadaverous deficiencies
In a locked box with your tools
Where you practiced fooling fools
With lipstick stained failures
Your shiny trinkets,
The cross, a ring and bones
The delinquent prayers
Blue ribbon tied baby shoes
Stained, when too many tears fell
The memory brings you to your knees
When you unlock your safe box hell
With a key you’ve kept
A copy of a copy
Because trust is a disease
At which you’re so adept
And Love is a virus that kills
You deny it, but
You cried from it
Now hide from it
Because you know how it feels
Cobwebs hug tightly, each red corner
Destroyed humanity, or denied hurt
You know you chose the former
Before I laid me down to keep
These secrets that I love so deep
And, I swore I’d keep for you
It remains hidden
If it does not exist
It cannot reveal
What it does not feel
There is no entrance
There is no fee
You cannot steal
What’s always been free
It is a charming sentence
In a world you’ve made unreal
In a mind of carefully worded twists
Treasure chest of forgotten
Crusted bloodied when you cared
Still you never compromised
Superstitiously, never dared
If your secrets are worth that much
It is true that you’ve been wise
Locked away long enough
Even truths can become lies
When there’s nothing left to discuss
Folded red ribbons of circles
Repeat chants of love miracles
Chart waning and waxing moon
Your strongest Magic works here
Your life force trapped in a room
As you speak in softest kisses
It’s what you do to conceal
And, to keep your box of secrets
You kept the last of all your wishes
Decided in ashes of trust denied
As If given
As it is riven
You are not winning
It is as it has been written
I know I’d better warn you, though
The ultimate price of sinning
These decisions were not up to you
They are Divine, not for The Living
You need to be aware of this
It is infinite, and Angels attest
Lest the dark night becomes a noose
Bravely open that treasure chest
They demand you let your demons loose
It is freedom, and only you can choose

Not A Garden

He said: I’m so sorry, we need to talk
He said: I love only you
He said: I’ve missed you

She said: Would you like to see my garden?
It’s where I go to play
It is where my heart is less guarded
And, my hurt not overtly on display

He said: Would you like to see the sea side?
Maybe run into the waves
You know that’s a kinda freedom
The type I do believe saves

She said: I like it in my garden
I go there everyday
I know it’s very quiet
But, it’s where I’m really safe

He said: Let’s go somewhere neutral
Get all this out the way
I’m so sorry I was brutal
And, that I’ve been so long away

She said: Yes, but you need to see
what loving did to me
I need this from you please

He said: Take me to your garden
Show me where you play
Show me what my love did
When I went away

She took him to her garden
She said: I’ve found a fresh approach
She said: please don’t hurry darling
It will take an hour at most
I asked before, be patient, come
Walk with me, your last duty done
I know it seems very lonely
I know it may make you scared
But, when you see my garden
You will understand how much I cared

He held her hand and followed
Though trepidation filled his heart
He expected to find it fallow
But, was fascinated from the start
Obviously carefully hidden
Inside, It was bright and full of trees
Though some shadows at the edges
She was keeping them at bay
With the flowering of yellow Jessemine
The flourishing of unusual bouquets
Around the perimeter, just out of sight
Some only little buds, still needing time
Hemlock ponds decorated just right
Greeting nature’s wondrous art
Demand attention at the Garden’s heart
Paid homage to a huge Manchineel
An Angelic fountain slightly to the left
It’s cool watery eyes gushed never spent
The Monkshood hugged cement
The Windflowers grew on a green bed
Surrounded by violet Larkspur
He followed her where she led
She pointed to the Doll’s Eyes
He touched it all in awe
These grew untamed just to the right
They tell no lies, white without sight
They walked a little more
Near pink bushels, Hearts of Jesus
And the blooms of non or believers
A circle of dells
Homed darker maroon Fairy Bells

She said: Come talk to me
He said: I admit, you’ve created beauty

They sat near the fountain
In a niche of tree stumps and rocks
A Golden Chain swayed in the breeze
Another of her rooted trees
And under the
Oleander’s Sweetest scent
Joined with the musty myriad of leaves
The unimaginable array of hues
Blessed a tangible planting of her Mews

She said: I made this garden, to share with you
He said: You are so beautiful, what an amazing thing to do

She leaned in close and kissed his lips. Shared nectar in tiny sips. Suddenly, a sliver of sun shone through, but even the brightest still seemed to shine blue. He looked at her and wary now, he said, “I’m finding it hard to breathe…” She nodded and said, “Come lay your head….and soon you will find relief.”

Confusion and terror as he sank into her. Disbelief that he had been tricked. Ragged gasps, he could barely speak, but driven….rasped, “What is this?”

She held him tenderly, surrounding by flower and leaf. She looked around and nodded, as he took a last blue mottled breath, then slowly he was dragged away by treacherous thieving leaves. Her garden spoke to her, in rustling whispers of reverence. It was innately greedy for every inch of it was poisonous.

She said: You know I love you, only you.
Garden said: True. We love you, too.
She said: You will hold my heart in safety? Garden said: Always, we keep it for you. And, always we will be waiting.
